BAPTISM AT EAC

Is A Public Declaration of Faith. A New Beginning.

At Empowerment Action Center, we believe that baptism is a powerful, outward expression of an inward transformation. It’s the next step after accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior—a public declaration of your faith and new life in Christ.

What is Baptism?

Baptism is a symbolic act of obedience, as demonstrated by Jesus Himself, that represents a believer’s identification with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Through baptism, we proclaim that we are dead to sin and have been raised to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).

Baptism doesn’t save you, but it’s a vital part of following Jesus and demonstrating to the world that you are a new creation in Him.

Why Should I Get Baptized?

  1. Jesus Commanded It: In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commands His followers to go into the world and baptize believers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We follow this command because we are committed to living in obedience to Christ.

  2. It’s a Public Declaration: Baptism is a way of publicly declaring, “I have decided to follow Jesus.” It’s a celebration of your faith and a commitment to walk with Him for the rest of your life.

  3. It’s a Spiritual Marker: Baptism serves as a spiritual milestone in your journey with Christ, reminding you and others of the commitment you’ve made to live a transformed life through Jesus.

The Meaning of Baptism

  • Immersion in Water: At Empowerment Action Center, we practice full immersion in water as a powerful symbol of death to sin and being raised to new life in Christ.

  • New Life in Christ: Baptism represents the believer’s transition from the old self to a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), where your life is no longer your own, but is lived for Christ.

What to Expect at Baptism

When you decide to get baptized at EAC, you’re surrounded by a loving community of believers who will celebrate this important step with you. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Pre-Baptism Class: Before the baptism service, we offer a short Baptism Class to explain the significance of baptism and answer any questions you may have. You’ll learn more about what it means to publicly declare your faith and what the Bible teaches about baptism.

  2. Baptism Service: Baptisms at EAC are a joyful celebration! You’ll be baptized during one of our services, surrounded by friends, family, and fellow believers who will encourage you as you take this next step in your faith journey.

  3. What to Bring: We encourage you to bring a change of clothes, a towel, and anything else you may need for your baptism day. Our team will guide you through the process and make sure you’re comfortable every step of the way.

Baptism for New Believers and Families

  • New Believers: If you’ve recently made a decision to follow Jesus, we encourage you to take the next step and be baptized. It’s an exciting moment in your spiritual journey where you publicly affirm your faith and declare that you are a new person in Christ.

  • Family Baptism: If you’re a parent and your child has expressed an interest in being baptized, we invite you to speak with one of our leaders to ensure they fully understand the meaning of baptism. We also offer opportunities for families to be baptized together, celebrating your faith as a unit.
